The moving beer drinker is hand carved and hand painted. At half-hours and on the hour, the cuckoo calls and the beer drinker moves the beer stein. The cuckoo bird is carved, the dial, numerals are all also made out of wood. For the night you can shutdown the cuckoo calling.
